It is such a delight still to watch my sons compete in sports. But at the college level, it can mean a trek! Parents from New York and the NE region travel hours to watch their children play at Middlebury College. Cornwall Orchards B&B offers a really convenient place for them to stay. See? A 3-minute drive!
BTW, colleges that play at Middlebury in November, include Colby, Connecticut College, Bowdoin, Trinity (CT), Tufts, Fitchburg State, Hamilton, and Rensselaer. We welcome parents from all NESCAC schools. One February we had swimming parents from 4 schools stay with us for the NESCAC Swimming and Diving Championship. What fun that breakfast table was!
My own experience has been with rowing. My husband and I actually honed our crowd-pleasing breakfast skills cooking by the river (What river? Who knows! It was usually dark). In 2017 I marked my tenth year as a Crew parent watching my youngest row at the Head of the Charles for the University of Michigan Men’s Rowing Club. Super proud. Go Blue.
